WHAT I’D PUT IN A TIME CAPSULE TO CONFUSE FUTURE ARCHAEOLOGISTS… 🤔📦
Honestly, I’m not sure what I’d put in a time capsule because it depends on how far into the future it’ll be discovered.
Part of me wants to include my PS5, laptop, or an MP3 player loaded with books, photos, music, and memories from my life. But then I wonder… if it’s found hundreds or even thousands of years from now, would anyone have a way to charge them? Would they even know what they’re looking at?
I’d probably throw in a half-finished crochet project with instructions on how to complete it. Imagine future archaeologists trying to figure out why someone carefully preserved an unfinished craft and left behind directions like it was some kind of sacred ritual. 😂
I could also add some favorite clothing pieces, accessories, fashion magazines, travel souvenirs, a favorite mug from somewhere I’ve visited, my son’s baby blanket, or one of his old toys. But fabric, yarn, and paper don’t always survive the test of time.
So maybe my time capsule would end up being a weird mix of technology, sentimental keepsakes, unfinished hobbies, and random objects that make perfect sense to me but absolutely confuse everyone else.
Now I’m curious…
What would YOU put in a time capsule to confuse future archaeologists? 👀

I love this piece. I never even thought about this since I was in middle school and had a assignment like this. I’ll give it a whirl on the reblog. Great response though. Some good stuff.

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it. 😊 It’s funny how some prompts can bring back memories from years ago. I’d love to see your take on it if you decide to do a reblog. I have a feeling your time capsule would be just as interesting—and probably just as confusing for future archaeologists! 😂

How about a notebook 📓? I bet they wouldn’t know what to do with that either?

A notebook might actually be one of the most meaningful things to include. Technology changes so quickly, but handwritten thoughts, sketches, memories, and ideas can survive for generations. Though I do wonder what future archaeologists would think of all my random notes and unfinished thoughts! 😂
